The Olympus Pen F will go down as one of the best compact Mirrorless cameras of all time. It’s gorgeous retro design, the capable 20-megapixel sensor, and the way it rendered black and white images made it a stand out performer. However, it had one fatal flaw. Water to the Olympus Pen F was like Kryptonite to Superman. The lack of weather sealing was a deal-breaker to many. However, there is a chance that this weakness will be fixed. According to one Olympus manager, the Pen F II is being considered. We and so many others would love that. Here’s what we’d love to see in the Pen F II.

Is It Too Late For Olympus to Make a Drone and Take on DJI?

Things are up in the air at Olympus right now, but speculation is rife about a possible Olympus/JIP drone that could rival offerings from DJI.

Olympus has been in the news recently for all of the wrong reasons, but a recent report has suggested it may well have a trick up its sleeve: they may enter the ultra-competitive drone market. Opinion: Calm Down, This is Not the End For Olympus, It’s a New Start

As a professional photographer who uses Olympus gear, I am thankful for the company being upfront, and I still believe that they have a future.

We all woke to shocking news on June 24th, 2020. Olympus, a staple in the photography world, has decided to sell-off its camera division after more than 100 years in business. Three years of successive operating losses, a market ravaged by the effects of COVID-19, and more competition than ever made the powers that be at Olympus believe that that uphill battle was too much for them to conquer, so Olympus sold the camera division to an equity fund (JIP). JIP Inc is a restructuring firm that specializes in streamlining the fallen giants of industry, and it is this fact that makes me believe that this isn’t the end of Olympus, the camera company, it’s a new beginning.
