Priya Panchwadkar Seeks Out Unique Frames of Mumbai at Night

“I like to get nervous,” says Mumbai-based photographer and Yoga instructor Priya Panchwadkar, about why she chose film over digital when photographing her bustling city. She thrives on the unforgiving nature each frame of a film roll produces when she’s out and about. And she wants the world to see how Mumbai looks at night, viewed through her imaginative eyes.

“In the Rain: 16 Winning Photos from Photocrowd and Miggo’s Photo Challenge

‘Monsoon Splash’ by Ata Mohammad Adnan - 1st in the expert vote, 4th in the crowd vote. "What a beautiful moment! It's so authentic, so real and full of emotions. The two kids playing with the water are so innocent in a way. It's so awesome to see how kids really don't mind the weather. Whether it's raining or the sun is out, they will always find a way to have a great time. I love the black and white post-processing and the open aperture. It really makes the subjects pop out. Keep up the great work!” - Marius Vieth

We’ve teamed up with Photocrowd to invite you to enter a really cool ‘In the rain’ photo contest, where you can win Miggo products and have your work published on our site.

Back in April we showcased the amazing work of Marius Vieth, whose ‘Under my Umbrella’ series has inspired the folks over atPhotocrowd to set up a contest where you can enter your own very best shots taken in the rain.

The contest will be judged by Marius himself who will decide a winner and his own top 10, while another winner and top 10 will be voted for by the Photocrowd community and general public – you get to choose the photos you want to see do well. Both winners will receive a prize from Miggo’s Agua Stormproof Holsters range, and both top 10’s will be featured in a gallery on The Phoblographer.

The contest opened on Monday, and you can enter two photos up until November 29. We’ll be publishing the winners’ gallery in the week commencing December 7.

Entry is completely free – just head over to Photocrowd and setup an account. And don’t forget to check out Marius’ work if you’re looking for inspiration!

Good luck!
