For CES 2016, Nikon is announcing two new lenses designed for APS-C sensor cameras. These two new 18-55mm lenses use stepping motors and use a new moniker being called AF-P instead of AF-S. The new motors are said to make the lenses faster and quieter. There are two versions: one with VR (4 stops) and one without. They also have two aspherical elements and a Super Integrated Coating.
Very few details are available so far, and it’s not even on Nikon USA’s actual website. We don’t know the cost yet or how they’ll be bundled with DSLRs going forward.
