Panasonic’s New DMC-FZ70 Has a 60x Optical Zoom

Panasonic is appealing to the creeper in all of us with its new 60x Optical Zoom point and shoot: the FZ-70. The new camera will start out at a crazy 20mm and zoom all the way in to 1200mm. Plus, you’ll get a fairly fast aperture range at F2.8-5.9 on this lens. To take advantage of that zoom range, the camera has OIS (optical image stabilization) built in, can shoot 1080 60i 30p 25p video, and a microphone that the company seems to be pushing really hard as a big feature on this camera. Apparently, it works to eliminate ambient noise, wind noise, and it zooms with the lens.

Other specs of interest are 9fps shooting capabilities, a 16.1MP MOS sensor, a 202K dot EVF, and 460K 3 inch LCD.

Adorama is currently listing this camera for $399.99. More specs are after the jump.
