Shutterstock today announced a new feature for their iOS app that will make it easier for photographers to actually have their images be found. Essentially, it’s reverse image search and it takes the desktop version algorithms and applies them to the app.
What someone needs to do is shoot an image or choose an image from their camera roll and then search Shutterstock’s library for a similar photo. If a designer that uses something like Adobe’s mobile design tools is all about your photo, they can license it. It makes a whole loads of sense; but what also works is genuine metadata and keywording knowledge as they always have with stock photography.
Their demo is after the jump.
