Samsung might be cooking up a new, smaller mirrorless camera called the NX mini. NX Rumors spotted a leaked image of the camera in Barbie pink along with a Powerpoint presentation detailing the specs. From what we can gather it seems the Samsung NX mini will target smaller mirrorless camera users with a body measuring less than 35mm thin. The future camera also seems to feature a flip up 3” screen that can bend forward a full 180-degrees.
According to the leaked presentation, the Samsung NX mini will feature a 20MP back-illuminated CMOS with a DRIMe 4 processor and will save images onto a microSD card. In terms of shooting capabilities it will be able to take an exposure as fast as 1/16000 second, sit between ISO 160-12800, record 1080p video at 30fps, and fire up to 22fps in continuous shooting mode. The leaked presentation also revealed two potential bundled lenses including a 9mm pancake lens and a 9-27mm zoom lens.
Samsung has recently been stepping up their camera game with the Samsung NX30 and Samsung Galaxy Camera 2, so we would put it past Samsung to make a mini version of the NX. Mirrorless Rumors posits we could see an official announcement in less than a month. Stay tuned until and check out some more images of the Samsung NX mini after the break.
