Black and white photography is loved across various genres. Whether it is photographing portraits, streets, or landscapes, black and white often enhances the mood and texture of the scene. Keeping this in mind, here are some cameras that are adored by photographers who love to see the world in monochrome.
Canon 5DS R

One of the cameras used by Yuri Benitez, the Canon 5DS R, offers a 50.6MP full-frame CMOS sensor and a low-pass cancellation filter. The latter is designed with an anti-aliasing filter for maximum sharpness. The camera is weather sealed, offers maximum details, and is ideal for studio and landscape work. Benitez, who is a studio photographer, chose the camera to create black and white nudes of women. The stark photos, with a nice play of light, help to bring out the curves on a woman’s body. Meanwhile, the camera helped to capture the subtle changes from black to grey to white with ease.
Leica Q3 Monochrome

Leica creates some of the best cameras and the Leica Q3 Monochrome is perfect for those who like compact cameras. The device offers a 28mm lens, a 60MP 35mm sensor, and an 8GB of buffer memory. The device can record 8K videos, and is designed for street, environmental portraits, and documentary photographers. The black and white camera allows you to capture as many details as the scene allows. There are also some lovely images as a result of the sensor. The tonality is also what makes the camera stand out against Leica and Sony models.
Leica M11 Monochrom

Another black and white Leica gem, the M11 Monochrome, is designed for professional photographers who love to shoot manually. The M series has been created for purists, featuring a 60MP fill frame sensor, 256GB internal memory, and an ISO range that goes up to 200,000. The latter allows photographers to shoot to their heart’s content, without fearing about the color noise. For those working with RAW files, they can push the shadows and still get good results, despite the grain. The 60MP gives you the best results, without much challenge.
Panasonic S5

Panasonic has its own set of wonderful models and the Panasonic S5 is one such perfect device. The device has a 24MP sensor, improved autofocus, and a nice DSLR-like body. The focus is fantastic, is great in bright light, and does a nice job in low light, too. As for the images, the high ISO output is great, and the detail retention is fantastic. The dynamic range is also great. As for the photography modes, we added, “By far, L Monochrome D is my favorite option. If you’re a passionate photographer that adores black and white, you’ll like this.”
