Since tariffs have been announced, the prices of cameras and lenses have skyrocketed. However, the ongoing war between Iran and the United States, prices of several chips have also seen a huge hike. Per new reports, it appears that Fujifilm is keen to increase the price of its cameras again. Here’s what to expect.
According to Fuji Rumors, the company will increase prices on September 1, largely in German retail stores. This will mark the third time, the first two taking place in July and August 2025. The company is said to change the prices due to rising semiconductor and higher production costs. However, the report also suggests that the increase won’t be limited to Europe, and could affect other countries.

While the report isn’t sure if the US will see the increase, it is pretty hard to suggest anything right now. One reason is that the US saw two price hikes a few months ago. For instance, the X100VI is already $1799, from $1599. The GFX100 II model also saw an $800 hike.
However, Fujifilm managed to hold off the initial tariff increase for a little longer than Nikon, Sony, Sigma and Canon. They even shifted the production from China to Japan to delay the price rise.
This does affect the buying pattern in Germany. Either people can rush right away and get a model, or they will have to wait until a rebate. The latter can’t be guaranteed either, given the rising prices of semiconductors. There are also backorders, which have been pretty prominent in the case of some models, which will likely see a hike. Even if the model is pre-ordered, it may not shield you.
Otherwise, you could also dip into the used market and likely find the cameras you desire.
Entry-level cameras are affected, just as much as professional cameras. Models such as the X-S20 and X-T50, which are budget offerings, see the largest ride, while the GFX100 II has a significant rise as well. This means that rising prices could push older models, on the second-hand market, to face something similar.
Overall, Fujifilm is showcasing a larger industrial shift. Other brands have increased their prices due to tariffs or adjustments in production costs. Given the current geopolitical situation, it also appears that this will not change anytime soon. So, you may have to prepare for more revisions in the future.
