Camera brands have been developing impressive camera and lens technology. Panasonic is one company that has offered some wonderful options, especially those who want a good camera for travel use. Here is a look at the three options from Panasonic that can help.
Panasonic S9
Panasonic is one of the few companies that knows how to make a good compact camera. The Panasonic S9 is an offering that houses a 24MP full frame sensor, along with real-time LUTs. It is lightweight, lacks EVF and weather sealing, but even then, it is perfect for travel use. For best focusing, rely on zone focusing for most situations. It is quick, even with Leica lenses. The RAW files are great for editing, and the colors are lovely. With real-time LUTs, you get some fantastic offerings. The high ISO images are perfect, up to 12,800. A skilled photographer will get the best results, whatever may be the challenge.
Panasonic S1R II
Designed for professional photographers, the S1R II offers a 44MP full frame sensor, 39 LUTs, and an 8.1K and 7.2K open gate. The camera comes with carbon fiber reinforcement, is weather resistant, and can withstand any shooting condition. The focusing system is exceptional, including photographing people of color in low light. The Live View Composite is a good option for those who want more out of their camera. The RAW files are good, help you to extract details from under- or overexposed images. As we added, “Seriously, this camera is one of the absolute best ones for photographers to make images in-camera and further differentiate themselves from those who spend all their time in post-production to make something look great.”
Panasonic S5 II
Last but not least is the Panasonic S5 II. The company offers a 24MP CMOS sensor, a 3.68m-dot OLED EVF, and open-gate 6K/30p. The camera can magnify up to 20x, and offers real-time tracking, including Animal Eye, Car, and Motorcycle Recognition. The focusing system is good for most types of photography, offers better image stabilization, and is the best option for hybrid use. “You can upload LUTs that look like Kodak, Fujifilm, CineStill, or whatever film simulation or look you’re trying to go for. Essentially, it becomes a full-frame Fuji camera, sort of,” we added in our review. But this is best if you are using JPEG. RAW files also give the best output for those who want more details.
