In recent years, compact cameras have become prominent options for young and professional photographers. Whether it is a 1-inch or larger sensor, there are plenty of options for everyone. As part of our listicles series, we take a look at some options that professional photographers will certainly adore.
Fujifilm GFX100RF

The first-ever medium-format compact camera, the GFX100RF is a device designed for professionals. With 102MP sensor and a 35mm f4 lens, you get everything you need to make this point-and-shoot an apt option. The design is rangefinder-style, and you also get truly exciting images you don’t feel the need to edit. As we said in our review, “The Fujifilm GFX100RF is truly a companion camera for the experienced photographer that is sick of having a plethora of everything and wants to keep a simple kit and a versatile mind that doesn’t make the technology do all the work for them.” Sure, the device is expensive, but it gives you so much in a compact body that it is worth the money.
Leica Q3

Leica is a luxury brand, but they make the best cameras for professionals. The Q3 features a full-frame 60MP sensor along with a 28mm lens, and the design is quite compact. It has an IP53 weather-sealing, a 15fps burst rate, and the eye AF works perfectly fast. The animal and bird’s eye AF are also good additions for those photographing pets. The images offer rich, punchy colours and despite the jump in resolution, you don’t see too much sensor noise. The RAW files are pretty versatile, allowing you to edit the images as you desire.
Sony RX1R Mk III

Sony has recently re-introduced a new compact camera, the RX1R III. It houses a 61MP sensor, a 35mm f2 Zeiss lens and a 2.36 million-dot XGA OLED electronic viewfinder. Although there is no weather sealing, the camera offers great image stabilization, allowing you to shoot an image at 1/5th. The images are a vibe and appear quite nostalgic. In addition, the film simulations add to the look and feel of the photos. It is pricey but if you are looking at a device that offers a good form factor and photos, this one is for you.
Ricoh GR IV

The GRIV is a compact camera with a 28mm lens and a 26MP APS-C sensor. The camera lacks an in-built flash, but it is quite lightweight and small image stabilization helps to get shots at 1 second or beyond. You also get multiple exposure modes, along with good high ISO results up to 3200. The compact camera also makes shooting from your hips easy so that street photographers can be inconspicuous in large crowds. Overall, the Ricoh GRIV is a model for street photographers wanting a device that delivers form and performance alike.
