Compact cameras are having a great period in the market. These smaller devices have rekindled the interest of millennials, with Gen Z finding them to be the perfect partners for their daily tasks. Considering the fame and popularity of compact cameras, we have decided to take a peak at the ones that have been trending on Google. Some are familiar names, while others showcase a bygone era. Either way, these models highlight the need for small sensor devices in the market.
Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T99

Sony has made exceptional compact cameras, and the T99 is one such device. The camera features a 14MP 1/2.3-inch CCD sensor with a 25-10mm 4x zoom lens. The camera is sleek, and it has a fast multi-shot mode and a Soft Skin mode for portraits. The camera has several shooting modes, including sweep panorama, underwater, and twilight portrait. It also features a 230,400-dot LCD screen and a shutter speed of 1/1250 sec. The camera has a 10fps burst rate, and can also record moving images.
Panasonic DMC-FX07

The Panasonic DMC-FX07 was launched in 2006 and houses a 7.2-megapixel 1/2.5-inch CCD sensor and Venus Engine III image processor. The camera houses a Leica DC Vario-Elmarit 28–102mm, an ISO up to 1250, and a 3-inch 207,000 dots LCD screen. It has a burst mode of 3fps, five white balance options, and multiple shooting modes, including Soft Skin, Scenery, Night Scenery, and Sports. It is a cost-effective camera for anyone who wants a pocketable device for everyday needs.
Samsung ES90

One of the most trending compact cameras, the Samsung ES90 14.2-megapixel 1/2.3-inch CCD sensor, with a 27–135mm lens. The camera has a shutter speed of 1/2000 second, with exposure compensation of ±2 EV in 1/3-step increments. The camera has an ISO of up to 1600, with autofocus modes including multi, center-weighted, and spot metering options. The camera has a 2.7-inch 230,000-dot LCD, and it measures only 96.9 × 58 × 20.2mm.
Fujifilm X100V

One of the rangefinder-style compact cameras, the X100V has a 35mm fixed lens. It has a 26MP X-Trans CMOS sensor, X-processor 4, and a 3-inch 1.62 million dots LCD. The camera is best for both photography and video, has a 3.69 million-dot viewfinder, and supports 4K/30p video recording. The Fujifilm device is weather resistant, has a built-in 4-stop ND filter, and also has face/eye detection AF. In our review of the camera, we said, “The Fujifilm X100v is the closest thing that we have to a perfect point and shoot on the market. It’s got great autofocus capabilities, wonderful image quality, weather sealing, a revamped lens, and a simple interface.”
Canon PowerShot ELPH 190

The Canon PowerShot ELPH 190 has a 20MP CCD sensor with a DIGIC 4+ image processor. The camera has an ISO up to 1600, a 24–240mm lens, along with multiple autofocus options, including face detection. The 2.7-inch 230,000-dot TFT LCD has Wi-Fi and video capabilities of 720p. It also features modes such as Smart Auto mode, Scene modes and Eco for battery life.
