As we approach the final stretch leading to the new year, it may be a good idea to sit down, relax, and look at all we’ve accomplished in 2024. Especially if you want to pick your best work and submit it for free to the Booooooom Photo Awards, because there are some very juicy prizes awaiting for the winners. We know that lots of photographers think that photo awards are scams. But this one is free to enter a single photo. If you’re a member, then you can submit as many as you’d like. Considering how great of a publication Booooooom is, you should check this out.

Categories
For this third edition, Booooooom is accepting submissions in five categories: Portrait, Nature, Street, Color, and Fashion.
- Portrait: Human subjects.
- Nature: Landscapes, seascapes, etcetera.
- Street: Candid and unposed moments of everyday life in public spaces.
- Color: Images featuring one color or an explosion of many.
- Fashion: Editorial, lookbooks, outdoors or studio.
Terms
The submission window is open until 11:59 pm PST on January 10th, 2025.
This contest is open to all photographers around the world, and all work made in 2023, 2024 or 2025 is eligible.
You can submit one image to these awards for free, using this form, or sign up for their membership for unlimited submissions. In the Awards post you can find a way to submit up to ten images —to the same category— for a small fee.
If selected as a winner —category or shortlist— of the 2024 Photo Awards, you’ll retain all rights to your images but granting a sub-license to display, publish and promote.
You should note that in their rules and conditions, they do not ask for proof of not using Generative AI at all. And so we hope that they have some very careful clarification around this at least in the future.
Prizes
Each category winner will be awarded USD $1,000 in cash, editorial and social coverage, a feature in a printed publication and some goodies such as bags, slings and cases. As they’re partnering with the online portfolio builder, Format, they’re also offering three websites with lifetime subscriptions. If you submit for free and end up winning, we think that this is a wonderful thing for you. But even if you purchase their membership and win, it’s not very expensive and you end up getting perks with their membership.
Knowing your work will be judged along with the work of many other talented photographers can feel daunting, but I assure you; you have nothing to lose and some very nice prizes to win. Go and submit before the tenth of January!
