Budget Brand Meike has launched three new lenses
Meike, a budget gear and accessories brand many of you have likely seen on Amazon when looking for photography gear, has launched three new lenses designed for today’s mirrorless systems. The new 50mm F1.7 and 25mm F2.0 still lenses, and a 25mm T2.2 cine lens, are all expected to be on the more affordable end of the spectrum.Unfortunately, the only fact that we have for all three of these lenses is that they are announced. We don’t have much of the usual information that comes with lens announcements, like image samples, spec sheets – none of it. But we do know which lens mounts the lenses will support. The Meike 50mm and two 25mm lenses will be available for Sony, Canon EF-M, Fujifilm, Micro Four Thirds, and Nikon 1 Mounts.
Of the three, the only lens we have any more information on is the 50mm F1.7 which, according to reports on Ephotozine, is going to be available in March of this year. It is also said that the lens will feature 12 aperture blades and a magnification ratio of 0.11x. Otherwise, further details about the three lenses have not yet been made available.
You could chalk this up to a budget brand just doing the bare minimum so that people know their products are coming, but not going the full distance like a more established lens company would do. Regardless, these lenses will be on Amazon in the coming months and should be excellent inexpensive options for beginners, hobbyists, and just photographers in general who are looking to try out some new gear without breaking their bank.
The lenses are not the sort you will find for pre-order on Amazon; however, you can find Meike’s other products over on Amazon, here, and if you’re interested you can find these new lenses there once they are available.
