The Chinese camera market has taken an exceptional turn in recent years. From third-party lenses to new compact cameras, there is so much that one can buy for themselves. Since we were curious about compact camera trends in China, we took a quick peek at Alibaba, to see which ones are selling the best. Here are some models that seem to have a fan base as well as some of the Japanese options.
DC403S
The DC403S is a generic compact camera which comes with a 24MP CMOS sensor, a 16x zoom lens, and optical image stabilization. It offers face detection, can shoot 1080P HD videos, and captures 44MP photos. It has a 2.4-inchs screen, weighs just 0.25kg, and has a waterproof design. It also offers more than 20 beauty filters, making it ideal for portrait use.
Canon G7X Mark III
The only known camera on the whole list is the Canon PowerShot G7X III. A practical compact, the device comes with a 20.2MP 1-inch sensor, a 24-100mm f1.8-2.8 lens, with 4.2X optical zoom, and an in-built ND filter. The camera is small, pocketable, and is one of the most popular models around the world. It’s tilting LCD and Wi-Fi support makes life easy to share one’s photos on social media.
DX8 Jarvis
Created by Jarvis Smart (ShenZhen) Co., Ltd, the DX8 Jarvis is an 8MP compact camera that interpolates up to 64MP for still photos, and 5K resolution for video. It has a 18x digital zoom, autofocus, a built-in flash, and a 4-inch 850×480 resolution screen. The camera also has some filter effects, 16+ languages, and a very Leica-looking design.
BENJIE A9
The BENJIE A9 is a digital compact camera that is said to have a Y2K/retro aesthetic, along with a 21MP CMOS sensor. The camera can shoot 64MP interpolated stills, has a 16x zoom lens, and can record 4K video at 30fps. There is a 3-inch flip LCD, a 1500mAh rechargeable battery, and measures just 62.5x110x29mm. The selling point is its lens, which allows you to shoot macro and wide-angle scenes.
Delanda D53
Inspired by screen-free compact cameras, this Delanda model is one of the few that is designed like Camp Snap models. It has a 13MP CMOS sensor, a fixed lens, and runs on an 800mAh battery. The camera can shoot HD photos and videos, has a 12-month warranty, and has a small LCD to count how many images you have shot.
Ausek “New Year Flip Screen” Thumb Camera
The Thumb Camera is a small keychain camera that is one of the best-selling devices on Alibaba. The device has a CMOS sensor that is less than 5MP in resolution, can record 1080p videos and has a flip-out 0.96-inch IPS screen. It also includes an LED light, a battery that lasts up to 50 mins, and it runs on a microSD card that records up to 128GB. It appears a lot like Kodak Charmera, but we aren’t sure how it may perform.
