Nikon has some wonderful cameras and lenses for various genres of photographers. The company has some spectacular wide angle lenses, which can benefit astrophotographers, but also some perfect cameras ideal for the job. Looking at their mirrorless offering, one can get confused. Here is the option that can be of help.
Nikon Z6 III

What makes it great? The Z6 III is a perfect offering for many who need a full frame camera. It has a 24MP partially stacked CMOS sensor, a 3.2-inch tilting screen, and a 5,760,000-dot EVF. The camera looks like its predecessor but also the Z8. It has a DSLR build, and the weather resistance makes it ideal for outdoor photography. In fact, there are many changes and plus points over the Z6 II, which we reveal below.
Why is it unique? The camera’s autofocus has trickled down from the Z9, so rest assured that the camera will work wonderfully. However, you must remember that astrophotography will have to depend on manual focusing. Since the camera is designed for street and landscape photography, you get some nice photos. Including in low light. You can get enough details to make things better.
The Nikon Z6 III is for photographers who don’t want something as big as the Z8 or need as many megapixels. But they want almost the same level of performance. And I truly mean that.

Nikon Z 14-24mm F2.8 S

What makes it great? With 16 elements in 11 groups, the 14-24mm is one of the best lenses for wide-angle shoots. There are 9 aperture blades, a 0.92 ft close focusing distance, and a 1.7x zoom ratio. The lens is lightweight, not too big, and has a nice LCD at the top. It is designed well, feels nice in your hands, and the weather sealing is top-notch. Since this is an S series lens, you can only expect good things.
Why is it unique? The autofocus is snappy and can rapidly lock on to the subject, even if they are moving fast. However, for astrophotography, you will have to keep the lens in manual mode. S series lenses are much like Canon’s L series. This means the image quality is just as fantastic. There is sharpness, great control over chromatic aberrations and flares, and the colors are pretty natural looking. Astrophotographers, will, thus get the best results.
The Nikon Z 14-24mm f2.8 S is a fantastic lens. It’s one of the first Nikon Z lenses that has truly made me say “wow.” The Nikon Z 14-24mm f2.8 S is a genuine contender for the top dog award in this lens category. It’s smaller and lighter than options on other full-frame platforms.
