Leica has introduced some iconic cameras and lenses over the years. While the company had two color variants, black and silver, Leica is now keen to further expand the design language with a third option: metallic gray tone. This is quite different than the limited editions that one often sees on the market, as it hails a new era of the company’s design language.
According to the company, the color was specifically developed in the Leica factory. The color is now available for three cameras and a lens, which pairs well with the models. In fact, the company is also introducing a new range of accessories for the models.
Leica M11-P

This is also the first M camera to be introduced with a gray paint finish combined with black control dials. The camera comes with diamond-patterned leather, which enhances the look. To complement the color, Leica is also introducing new batteries of the same gray finish, along with a protector, and a carrying strap made from dark-brown leather.
Leica Q3

The next option is Leica’s popular full frame compact camera, the Q3. The company notes that this model is different than the standard black camera. For instance, in the black variant, the feet and f-stop scales on the lens are marked in yellow, but with this, you get a nice red tone.
Leica D-Lux 8

The D-Lux 8 is one of the more affordable Leica offerings that houses a 10.9-34mm f1.7-2.8 ASPH fixed lens. The compact camera and the FN buttons have a metallic gray finish. There is also a new cognac-colored version camera case to complement the existing black-colored one.
Leica APO-Summicron-M 50 f2 ASPH

The 50mm lens is loved by many photographers, and happens to be an ideal addition to the M11-P‘s grey tone model. The lens also has a metallic finish, the lens and front cap also have the same metallic finish, while the feet and f-stop scales have a nice red tone.
