Firmware updates are so important for cameras today. A good company will continue to update devices long after they have been introduced onto the market. Of the various brands, Panasonic is one such manufacturer that does not shy away. As part of their latest firmware support, the company is introducing new updates for Lab app and the S9. Have a look.
Panasonic states that this will provide users with “greater flexibility for editing and customization,” with the Lab update being introduced on May 20, while the latter on June 2026. In addition to this, one will also get updates for interchangeable-lenses later in mid 2026.
With this update, firmware update support via the LUMIX Lab app has been added for compatible cameras (*1). Users can now update their cameras and lenses directly through the app, without downloading firmware to a PC and copying it to a memory card.

• The app’s UI has also been updated for better usability.
Features Limited to LUMIX L10 and S9 (Ver.2.0)
• My Photo Style now helps with editing within the app for greater customization.
• One can use a wired connection for image transfer, LUTs and My Photo Style edits. This will allow for faster file transfers and a more stable connection.
• LUTs created with additional parameters such as grain, color noise, sharpness, and noise reduction can also be used in-camera for photos and videos using Real Time LUTs.
