Mirrorless cameras are all the rage in the industry. With companies like Canon and Nikon switching to the same, photographers today have only two options: stick to the aging DSLR system, or get a new camera with a fast system. For those in street photography, the latter makes much more sense. If you are someone who has been meaning to invest in a mirrorless system, then this Panasonic model is the best for you.
The S9 Offers a Fast Focusing System

The camera offers an enhanced customization of the focus ring, which is a good feature for photographers to use. In addition, the full frame camera also allows a fast focusing system. This is great for street photographers who want to nail the shot. With Panasonic 50mm f1.8, you get stunning images without missing the shots. In addition to the focus, you get a small body, which is not at all intimating. The LCD also allows you to take photographs from your hip, and street photographers who have been shooting in crowded areas will know how helpful that can be. Overall, the focusing system is fast, and in fact, better than Fujifilm X100VI.
Benefits of the L-Mount System

The beauty of using the S9 is that it offers multiple lenses to choose from. You can work with Panasonic’s offerings, or you can rely on Leica to get distinct photographs. Either way, the S9 works pretty well with both. The only challenge that we did see was the autofocus speed, when we connected the camera to Sigma’s optics. But if you are someone who doesn’t mind spending a little more, you will truly get some beautiful images with Leica lenses.
Images Worth Praising

The best part about investing in Panasonic cameras is that you get the chance to play with colors. The company is known for allowing the use of LUTs for photographers, which means you get stylized images right out of your device. The RAW files are versatile, and the high ISO output is amazing, up to ISO 12,800. The colors are great, and if you know what you are doing, you will get the best results. As we said: “A skilled photographer will find it nearly impossible to not get good photographs with this camera.”
The only challenge the camera poses is the lack of weather seal and a viewfinder. While the latter helps the camera to stay light, photographers can always find ways to utilize the LCD for good. For what’s worth, you are not just investing in a camera but a whole system. So, if you are a Leica user or already have a Panasonic camera, the S9 is a great addition as a second device.
