Olympus has been one of the few companies that produces some really fantastic devices. While the sensor size of their interchangeable lens digital cameras is smaller than most offerings, it still hails to be the best in terms of its performance as well as designs. Photographers from various genres still swear by the company’s cameras, which proves why you can invest in this if you want to buy a used device.
Olympus EM1 Mk III

What makes it great? The device is the most sturdy camera to come across. We tested it on the beach, and it survived the sand and water. The focusing system is largely good, and it can track humans and primates with ease. Birds, not so much. The image quality is good, with low ISO and detail priority both helping you get good results. The latter more so. There are also art filters, which make your images look more stunning. For instance, instant film, vintage, bleach bypass, cross-process, pinhole, and grainy film are all great.
Why is it unique? The Olympus EM1 Mk III comes with a 20.4 MP Live MOS 4/3 sensor, a TruePic IX, a -3.5 EV autofocus, and a 121-point phase-detection system. It also offers 10 fps with tracking, a high-res shot mode, and a live composite mode. The high-res shot mode is ideal for photographers who want extra details, such as landscape photographers. As for Live Composite, it is quite loved by those who don’t want to spend hours on their Photoshop skills. Then there is a Starry Sky AF, which is ideal when photographing the stars. Overall, the camera’s additional features make it a perfect device for varying usage.
Who is it for? The camera is designed for rugged use, which means travel, landscape, wildlife, and night photographers will adore what it has to offer.
The Olympus High Res shot mode is always something that I felt they added to compete with higher-end camera systems. The results you get are admittedly great in part due to the higher end Olympus lenses that you should be using to take the most advantage of this camera.

Olympus EM5 Mk II

What makes it great? The camera comes with a versetile 14MP 4/3 sensor, 5-axis image stabilization, a 3-inch 1037k dot LCD, and weighs just 469g. The top of the camera features a plethora of function buttons and enhanced dials. Moreover, it is quite sturdy and can withstand snow and rain. This proves that those who like shooting outdoors will be able to do so with ease. One can also rely on the auto mode to shoot, and the camera feels nice in your hands as well.
Why is it unique? The Olympus camera has the best autofocus we have ever seen. It can easily outdo Sony, Nikon, Canon, and even Fujifilm. You also get some damn good JPEG quality, as it renders nice colors and a high ISO range. The RAW files also help you to push shadows, pull highlights, and work around curves in conjunction with the specific color channels. And you can also get a 40MP high-res shot in-camera.
Who is it for? The compact device is designed for travel, street photographers, and documentary photographers, as well as serious enthusiasts.
The EM5 Mk II feels like the fastest autofocusing camera I’ve ever tested. Sometimes it won’t nail the focus but those are often in situations where almost no camera will ever nail them. In extremely low light situations we almost never had focusing issues either.
