Panasonic cameras have become a favorite of many hybrid shooters. One reason is that the company has offered a wide range of features that benefit both groups. But while we appreciate how far they have come, we want to take a moment and see the ones who helped to push the company further ahead in innovation. Have a look.
Panasonic GF1

The GF1 12MP Four Thirds camera, with ISO 3200, and a 3-inch 460,000-dot LCD. The world’s smallest camera at the time of its launch, the device looks elegant, and it is very easy to use. Moreover, the autofocus is speedy, accurate, and fairly intelligent. And it will work in most situations pretty well. The GF-1 offers versatile RAW files, but the high ISO is okay. One of the reasons why it became so popular is that it has DSLR-like image quality with a truly compact, rangefinder-style body.
Granted, it’s quite an old camera. But it still works!
Panasonic S1R

The S1R is one of the first full frame cameras from the cimpany, which offers hybrid features. The device comes with 47.3MP sensor, can record 4K/60p videos, and also includes 5,760K OLED LVF. In our review, the device had great autofocus performance, and as we said, “The Panasonic S1R was able to keep up with moving subjects during a parade.” However, it suffers a bit in low light. As for the images, one can recover a whole lot of detail can be recovered from the shadows. The RAW files are versatile, and you also get clean high ISO images. As one of the first-generation cameras, the S1R is an amazing choice.
What you should also know is that the sensor was really something special for the time.
Panasonic S5

The S5 is a mid-tier professional camera, it comes with 24.2MP, and can also shoot 96MP images. “They’ve created one of the smallest full-frame cameras out there,” we explained in our review. The device is weather-resistant, and the autofocus is pretty good at tracking. As we added, “the autofocus in low light is both snappy and accurate. It almost seems like the Panasonic S5 is faster than the higher end cameras that Panasonic makes too.” The camera can capture details well, has good dynamic range, and the colors are quite vivid.
When the second version of this camera came out, it really took the market by storm.
Panasonic GX8

The GX8 is another exceptional camera, which offers 20MP MFT sensor and a burst rate of 10fps. The device has great overall design, with multiple knobs and dials, and it comes with great weather sealing. “The GX8 gives excellent colors,” we said in our test. The images can be easily edited, can recover details, and at high ISO you get very little noise. In addition, the focus is really fast, and it can track focus even in the dark. It is a camera you will adore.
Panasonic Lx100

The LX100 comes with a 12.8MP 4/3-inch sensor and 24-75mm lens. The device is compact, features an aspect ratio dial, and is a nice, small device to play with. It has a nice metallic feel and a streamlined design, which makes it an exceptional premium offering for professionals. “Face detection accurately tracks faces,” we said in our review, “and even while walking, the camera will focus properly in most cases.” The images are perfect, and it can recover details, highlights, and shadows. The RAW files are versatile, and when paired with the design, they make it an exceptional offering in many ways.
