The Phobolographer was founded over 15 years ago, and since then, we have consistently reinvented ourselves and ensured we remain inclusive. As a journalistic website, we report the news accurately, our reviews are honest and offer transparency in our practices, and our interviews educate people about photography and the challenges and struggles minorities face today. In short, we are doing everything as a small business and photography-specific publication to give you the best information about our industry. And for this reason, we have decided to amplify our voice on new social media platforms.
The Phoblographer has been on Twitter and Facebook since 2010 when social media was still gaining traction. But things have changed, and so have the ways we interact with information. Facebook has been abandoned, and Instagram is the new deal. With Twitter being owned by Elon Musk, many have left the arid land for the greener pastures of BlueSky and Threads. We don’t blame them; after all, Twitter is now what it used to be.
So, we decided to reach out to the remaining few who still want quality content. The Phoblographer is now on both BlueSky and Threads, and we will continue to update you about the changes in the industry as and when they happen.
If you are wondering why follow us there… Well, your algorithms are not the same on Facebook and Instagram as they used to be. Moreover, you may prefer one app more over the others, so get us there. Lastly, the way we consume news or stories has changed drastically. Gone are the days when people would look you up on the World Wide Web (not unless you argue about a fact). With many working individuals preferring to look at social media to get quick, bite-sized updates, we have you covered. By following us, you get the best insights at your fingertips. Plus, you can save and bookmark our content to read later on relaxed days.
With this, we would like to remind you that things will change for The Phoblographer in the next year. For instance, our reviews will now be more inclusive. In fact, our staff, too, is quite inclusive, with people from varied backgrounds coming together for their love for the medium. In addition, we also signed up with the Content Authenticity Initiative to fight AI while using the CAI tool to ensure our journalist standards remain higher. Since we focus on photographers, we want our work to uplift you and your creativity in these challenging times. So, we will find ways to bring the best to you.
This also reminds me that we will review a few compact cameras in the coming months to ensure that people who want to switch from a phone to something small and less pricey can do so. Our first recent review is already up. This change of heart comes after we saw an inclination towards compact cameras in the industry. This means while there is a demand, there is not enough supply. With these reviews, you will get a hint about where the older cameras stand today. So have a look. You can always reach out to us via email if you have any queries.
Change is the only constant, and we know that. With new channels and avenues, The Phoblographer will continue to stand by your side. If you like our content, please like, comment, and share to battle against the algorithm changes. Until then, happy reading!
