If you’re a Fujifilm fan, especially of the popular X100 series, here’s an ASMR video that will tickle your eardrums, whispers, shutter sounds and all.
Shutter sounds are music to our ears without a doubt, which is why some photographers are delighted by the loud clanks, slaps, and whirrs of film cameras. There are lots of shutter sound videos out there, but it looks like it can be taken a notch higher with the addition of ASMR. We’ll let you decide if it’s silly or a serenade!
But wait, what the hell is ASMR anyway?
Autonomous sensory meridian response or simply ASMR, according to Wikipedia, is “a tingling sensation that typically begins on the scalp and moves down the back of the neck and upper spine.” Certain sounds like whispering and crisp sounds like tapping fingernails and crinkling packets typically trigger this sensation. However, Mashable also explains in a video that not everyone gets this reaction and there are mostly only anecdotal reports from the members of the ASMR community, and not a lot of scientific studies that prove it exists.
Still, that hasn’t stopped ASMR from being an Internet sensation, with numerous YouTube channels and Instagram accounts dedicated to this so-called phenomenon. And then, we come to the video below from YouTube channel nycphotog2006, whispers and all. We can see this either as a photography-themed parody of the ASMR, or something that actually sends tingles down the spine — if only because shutter sounds are music to photographers’ ears. This video features the Fujifilm X100 cameras in particular, but if you’re more keen on other Fujifilm cameras, the channel also has other shutter sounds earporn for Fujifilm XPRO series and other Fujifilm X Series cameras.
This version of the shutter sound videos is more about humor than anything else, but if the ASMR worked for you, well and good. If you loved the shutter sounds more, even better!
