His winning shot is a portrait of Amadou Sumaila from Mali taken just minutes after being rescued on the Mediterranean Sea, 20 nautical miles off the Libyan coast. The other Grand Prize winner is Witold Ziomek of Poland, who was awarded Chromatic Discovery of the Year for his beautiful snap of a waterfall in Skogafoss, Iceland. Dezfuli and Ziomek were also selected for Portrait – Professional and Nature – Amateur categories respectively.

Each of the 20 categories for both the Professional and Amateur divisions also had three placers and several honorable mentions. With this, Chromatic Awards successfully gathered an impressive collection of color photography for their First Annual Color Photography Contest.
