There is something about that super high contrast black and white look that just draws your attention to it. Photographer Greg Sino shoots a lot of it. “Black and White photography is an important part of my work, actually around 50% of it,” he notes of his style. “Black and white has become a real mode of expression like on this series where the whites and the blacks are very powerful to obtain something more ‘rock n’ roll’.”
When digging deeper into his motivations for shooting, specifically relating to his black and white work, Sino says people and society are his biggest inspiration. “I’m definitely obsessed by movement because it’s a good way to show some strong and independent people. Photography has to be a gift for my models, and I love to show them how beautiful and strong they are.”
Sino says black and white is kind of the eternal rebel’s attitude for artists to share what they see.”In life, color is everywhere and black and white let’s us show something through a filter, with the exact inspiration. Black or white is also the most impactful way to express and idea.”
