My personal favorite tripod company has released their new line of Monopods called 1Legged Things. It has been a long time since they had a monopod, Bob, available. With the help of some photography professionals like Leon Neal, and some bizarre experiments they designed their new Monopods to be more rugged than before.
Pete is their 3 Section professional carbon fiber, flagship, and monopod of the line. It has been designed with sports and wildlife photographers in mind. It’s the largest of the line as well as the lightest. It weighs about 450 grams.
Sid is their Professional Magnesium Alloy Monopod. It’s a slightly heavier version of Pete. It also comes in at a slightly lower cost. It has all the functionality of Pete just none of the carbon fiber.
Bob 2 is a 5 Section Professional Carbon Fiber Travel Monopod and the smallest and tallest of the line. At its smallest Bob 2 is 450mm or 17.7 inches and extends to 1.7m or 5.5 feet. Bob is built to travel and can fit in small spaces.
1-Legged things come in a versatile, padded, bag. These bags are lined to protect the monopod and come with pockets for memory cards and other spare parts. There are D rings to connect to other bags as well as cords zips, a shoulder strap and a strong handle.
