The latest addition of DxO’s FilmPack 4 offers photographers a wealth of new effects, 65 in total. With an Essential and Expert version, FilmPack 4 can be used as a plug-in for Lightroom, Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, Aperture, and DxO Optics Pro, or it can be used on its own. Users can emulate classic film looks – Kodachrome, Fuji Neopan, etc. – and add various effects – light leak, blur vignetting, etc. – to achieve a look that may not have been possible otherwise. The Essential version offers a simple package of nearly 60 effects, while the Expert addition offers a wider range of possibilities. DxO overhauled the controls panel so that users can quickly access effects specific to either black & white or color processing, so that no time is lost in getting the desired aesthetic. DxO FilmPack 4 can be had here at $79 for Essential and $129 for Expert. Current owners of FilmPack 3 will be entertained to a reduced price, and introductory pricing is available at $49 for Essential and $99 for Expert.
