Nikon has released the full details on their Coolpix P330, Coolpix L320, and the Coolpix S3500, all of which are new entries into the compact camera battle. On the European side, the Coolpix L320 is a super-zoom compact camera with a 26x wide-angle optical zoom lens. For the Americans, the Coopix P330 looks to challenge Canon’s PowerShot S110 in both specs and price. Lastly, the Coolpix S3500 is a fun and colorful compact shooter for the entry-level photographer.
The Coolpix L320’s super-zoom lens and a 16 MP CCD sensor allows users to capture actions shots from a distance. However, it is only capable of up to 720p video recording. Thanks to Nikon’s anti-blur technology, slight camera shake can be countered easily. With features intended to be user-friendly such as the smart portrait system that automatically adjusts and fixes Red-eye, uneven skin tones, and other imperfections. It also comes with 18 different scene modes for popular photographic styles and situations. Nikon plans to have the Coolpix L320 available by March 21st with a £199.99/€239 price tag.
The Coolpix P330 is Nikon’s entry to the slightly higher-quality compact camera market. Interestingly, it comes with a 12.2 MP BSI-CMOS sensor and a 24-120mm f/1.8-5.6 lens capable of 5x optical zoom. Users will be able to capture 1080p HD recording which you can preview through the 3″ 921k-dot LCD screen. Some features include a built-in GPS function, maximum of 10fps shooting, 23 scene modes including 3D mode, and the ability to shoot in RAW, or .NRW, which is Nikon Coolpix’s version of RAW. The Coolpix P330 will be available this month for $379.95.
Lastly, the Coolpix S3500 is the entry-level shooter that is meant to be more fun and exciting through its colorful exterior that would appeal to the younger demographic. With creative features such as 18 scene modes, Smart Portrait system, glamour retouch, and some image filters, the S3500 keeps things easy and simple. It is equipped with a 20 MP CCD sensor and 26-183mm lens capable of 7x optical zoom. The S3500 is available in a variety of colors and is available now for £199.99/€239 in Europe.
