Nikon has announced that it is developing its longest autofocus lens ever made, this 800mm f5.6 monster. That’s where most of us are going to stop reading because the only way we will be able to afford this is if it fell off a truck. The final price has not been announced but I’m sure we can expect a price near $10,000.
The lens will feature all of Nikon’s latest lens technology as we would expect including VR, dust and water resistance. Nikon will be premiering the lens at the Open Golf Championship at Royal Lytham & St. Annes Golf Club in Lancashire, England, between July 19th and 22nd 2012. I’d love to see the focal length damage done by combing this with a Nikon V1!
