Together with the new QX-series of smartphone accessory lens cameras, Sony today unveiled their new flagship Android device, the Xperia Z1. Successor to the Xperia Z, the Z1 sports roughly the same dimensions, but comes with a much more advanced camera. The Z1’s camera uses a Sony G lens with an equivalent focal length of 27mm and a bright f2 aperture, projecting images onto a dedicated 1/2.3″ sensor with 20.7 million photosites. That’s the size you typically find in point-and-shoot compact cameras, and considerably larger than most smartphone camera sensors. Like its predecessor, the Z1 boasts a 5″ Full-HD display and is IP55/58 dust- and waterproof. Full specs after the break.
