When Samsung recently announced the Galaxy NX camera, the tech world went abuzz. Not because it was the first camera to feature an Android system as its main user interface, but because Samsung had the guts to put an Android system into a full-fledged mirrorless NX-system body. That was a novelty that nobody had expected. But considering that Samsung’s NX-system devices aren’t selling so well compared to other mirrorless systems, and that the company is one of the big hits in the Android smartphone business, it makes a lot of sense, actually. By merging the two technologies, the company tried to make the NX-system more attractive, and at the same time reminded everyone that they’re the Android overlord.

Those who can hardly wait to get their hands on the Galaxy NX will soon be able to do so, as the camera will be available in the US in October. The price tag, however, will not be the camera’s biggest selling point. It’ll be yours for US-$ 1,599.99 body only, or US-$ 1,699.99 with the 18-55mm kit lens.

In the meantime, check out our first impressions here.
