Photographers are increasingly mobile. They are not tethered to desktop computers as much as they used to be also. Logitec, in Japan (Not Logitech) has taken note of this and is releasing the LHD-PBLU3″ and “LHD-PBMU3″ series portable hard drives in mid-June. These drives are shock proof, and designed for high performance with USB 3 connectors.
The drives have a rubber frame which is energy-absorbing. Inside the drive is a floating structure that will absorb the shock if the drive is dropped. The rubber coating is scratch resistant as well. The Logitec “LHD-PBLU3” (500GB) and “LHD-PBMU3” (1TB or 2TB) are created to be thrown into any bag without any issues.
