At CES in Las Vegas, Nevada, Manfrotto today unveiled the latest addition to their 290 series of tripods. The new 290 three-way ballhead features foldable handles that make it more compact for storage. It is made made from high quality polymer and was designed to be “precise and accurate, yet compact and lightweight” (Manfrotto press release).
The new 290 ballhead will be available for purchase either on its own, or in one of the following kits:
- 290 ballhead with 290 aluminum tripod (3S)
- 290 ballhead with 293 aluminum tripod (4S)
- 290 ballhead with 293 carbon tripod (4S)
At the same time, Manfrotto introduces new 290 series carbon tripods, which promise to be lighter and more durable than previous models. The carbon tripods come with interchangeable heads and are designed for heavy-duty use.
At the time of writing this, there is no release date or pricing available for these items. We will update as soon as this information becomes available.
