Street photographers often want a camera that can withstand anything. It is not only the design that helps them shoot for longer hours, but also offer colors that are outstanding. While full frame cameras achieve this, they are expensive as well. To help those who need a budget offering, here’s the APS-C camera that can help one with ease.
The camera we are talking about is the Fujifilm X-T5, a camera that is exceptional, fun, and fantastic in every way. The camera offers a 40MP X-Trans 5 BSI sensor and AI white balance like the XH2. The device has seen animal detection autofocus, an upgraded tilt screen and EVF, amongst others. It offers five-axis image-stabilization, 160MP pixel shift technology and a battery rated at 680 shots per charge.

The autofocus offers animal eye AF, and it also does a good job of photographing birds, but only if they are sitting on a branch. It also struggles with continuous autofocus, but it works much better in single point and AF-S modes. This means you can photograph weddings, as well as dark dance floor. While the camera is one fps slower than the XT4, the XT5 is fine for subjects like portraits, street photographers that focus on slower subjects, or found objects.
Unlike the autofocus, the image quality says another story. The camera offers a nice blend of great photos and character. The 40MP offers a lot of details, has lovely colors, and the photos are quite sharp.
Most photographers choose Fujifilm because of their color profiles — myself included. My running favorite is still Astia because of the way it renders skin tones and creates a soft look without the awful overexposed tendency of a “light and airy” edit. The colors worked universally well moving from portraits to a colorful dance floor.
Furthermore, the high ISO results are nice, and they showcase more noise than the 24MP options. In fact, the photos work pretty well above ISO 1600, and at ISO 3200, you see some noise. Close to ISO 6400, you see some more level of detail and texture than the images you make at lower ISO. However, this is only visible if you are pixel peeing.

As for the RAW files, you can “bring back lost detail in shots that were underexposed by about two stops.” The company always offers versatile range, which means you can edit as much, but remember that opening it up can lead to noise. However, if you use the film simulation, you’ll get just the images you need.
The Fujifilm camera offers good ergonomics, and it feels nice in your hands. The wrap offers good sturdy control, and it is a slightly lighter XT4. There is also weather sealing, which allows you to work with the camera even in a challenging environment. It can work even when we splash the camera with a cup of water. It worked well.
Given that it is hard to find Fujifilm cameras, the XT5 is a pretty good option, even if you are looking at a used camera. With the versatility it offers, the camera is ideal for street photographers at all ages.
