The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) has been a cultural institution pushing the boundaries of creativity, highlighting the works of artists from various disciplines going back to the 19th century. In a similar way, Polaroid has been an innovator in photography, introducing the first ever instant films. Now, Polaroid and MoMA have come together to release a special edition Polaroid Now Generation 3 and i-Type Color Film that celebrates creativity, design, and photography in a bold color palette.
The Polaroid x MoMA Polaroid Now Generation 3

The centerpiece of this collaboration is the Polaroid Now Generation 3 Instant Camera—MoMA Edition. Reimagined in a striking monochrome blue and adorned with the MoMA logo, this camera is a bold statement piece. It comes complete with three interchangeable straps for a playful color-blocking effect that looks great against the blue-on-blue motif. The camera is compatible with i-Type film, ensuring a full-sized Polaroid experience.
Eye-Catching Frames Add to the Fun
The limited-edition i-Type Film—MoMA Edition pack adds an extra layer of artistic flair. The film packs feature 8 out of 12 unique frames, marked with the MoMA logo or featuring inspiring quotes from artists within MoMA’s collection, allowing your images to be framed by the wisdom of An-My Lê, Betye Saar, Carmen Herrera, Meret Oppenheim, Milton Glaser, or Vincent van Gogh.
Some of my favorites from the bunch include:

You can make art out of anything. – Betye Saar

If one truly loves nature, one finds beauty everywhere. – Vincent Van Gogh
And,

Don’t be intimidated by anything. – Carmen Herrera
Polaroid x MoMA
The combination of Polaroid Now’s bold design and the funky special edition film packs in this collaboration reminds us that good design can inspire you to do the thing you love even more. With these striking frames and just plain old fun look of the Polaroid Now, I can see this as a camera you’d be eager to take out and about wherever you go.
In terms of the artists that were selected to represent nearly 100 years of the MoMA, I’m excited that they didn’t shy away from putting together an artist roster that represented a rich tapestry of styles, identities, backgrounds, and experiences. If nothing more, their selection of artists for this special collaboration might be a great way to introduce a new generation to some of the greats in the art world.
Without putting too much into it, this collaboration is an invitation to see the world through a different lens, just like the artists whose quotes grace the film. It’s a call to embrace bold artistic expression and design innovation – and that’s something that we can get behind.
The Polaroid x MoMA collection is available for purchase at Polaroid’s website, MoMA Design Store locations, and online at MoMA’s webstore, as well as select Polaroid retailers. The Polaroid Now Generation 3 – MoMA Edition will retail for $129.99, and the Polaroid i-Type Color Film – MoMA Edition will retail for $21.99
