As the CP+ Imaging show draws closer, there are several new rumors and exciting news floating on the world wide web. There are expectations of new camera launches and equipment such as lenses, lights, and tripods. Of the brands that are presenting in Japan, one is TTartisan, a Chinese lens manufacturer that has become a reliable supplier of lenses for many photographers. It also appears they are present for the show, which will take place from February 27 to March 2.
As per Mirrorless Rumors, the company has teased an ‘unprecedented’ launch of a new product. As you can see from the post below, the company does not mention whether it is a lens or some photography accessory.

So, what could this new product be? The first and most obvious guess would be a new range of lenses, which have not yet been created or won’t be similar to other offerings in the market. In the past, the company has launched a 27mm pancake lens for APS-C cameras, which we liked a lot. It was sharp, had relatively quick auto-focusing, and decent sharpness, all of this at under $160. There is also the 75mm f1.5, which was designed for portrait photographers and had swirly bokeh. So, perhaps the company will build on this and give us something unique after a long time.
There is also a chance that the product is not a lens but a mirrorless camera. While this was a joke that the company had shared in 2023, there is still the hope that a lens manufacturer will take the leap just as Sigma did with the fp or Yongnuo, who created the YN450. While both cameras were not received well, they were commended for their ability to be different. So, while we may not take the possibility of a T-1 mirrorless camera too seriously, it can still be expected.

Last but not least are TTartisan’s own accessories, such as a new LED Light, light meter, a bag, or their viewfinders. A quick glance at their website will showcase how each of these products is well under $80, and some have even sold out. However, the chances of a new accessory may seem low on a platform of this nature, but hey, if they managed to make a breakthrough there, then why not?
TTartisan has had a positive response from the audience, so whatever they launch, it is likely to be received well. The company managed to produce good devices at a really cost-effective price, making them an ideal choice for first-party lenses or accessories. However, we do hope that the company’s new range does something different: get better autofocus and weather sealing for their lenses. It has been a long time coming. Weather sealing does not mean that the price of the lens skyrockets to hundreds of dollars, something which we continue to see from Canon, Nikon, and Sony. So, for once, we hope TTartisan is listening.
Today, Chinese manufacturers have really put their German and Japanese counterparts through their paces with fast-paced production and different types of equipment at a reasonable price point. When you buy a $150 lens, you know you won’t be using it for a decade like others, but it will give you a good average of 3-4 years, depending on how roughly you handle it. And that is not bad in this economy at all. However, in just a few days, we will know whether TTartisan has proved us right or wrong.
