The Technical Image Press Association (TIPA) is one of the most renowned organizations that celebrate and honor the best photography cameras, lenses, and accessories every year. Founded in 1991, TIPA has always played a pivotal role in showcasing the best of the best in the photography world. Now, after years of showcasing innovative gear in the field, the organization is announcing a new contest called camerAmore. If you love photography and your cameras, this is your chance to win thousands of dollars.

Now in its second edition, camerAmore is inviting photographers to showcase the best they shoot of their equipment. The contest is not looking at product photographers; rather, it wants you to depict your relationship with the equipment. Yeah, that may be challenging, but worry not—there are three different categories to which one can submit images!

- My camera and I: This is for when you take a selfie or a self-portrait with a camera. You can use reflective surfaces such as mirrors or water, put another camera on a tripod, or use a timer to capture an image of yourself with your camera. You can also create a beauty shot with a unique piece of equipment.

- My camera in action: Unlike the previous category, here you have to showcase that you and your camera are “at work.” You can showcase yourself by covering a sports event, documenting nature, or working in a studio setup. Furthermore, you can also showcase your entire arsenal with a tripod, flash, and additional lenses, but with a unique great angle of view.

- What’s in my camera bag: As the name suggests, you must showcase what is in your bag. You have to create nice images that are artistic and well-arranged, showcasing your cameras, lenses, filters, and even film in a bag. The images can showcase the insides of the bag with the equipment or have things arranged around it.
TIPA is an organization that is composed of member publications in the photography and imaging field, either print or online. The magazines and websites cover news and reviews about gear and articles on business-to-business and business-to-consumer-related topics. The Phoblographer is a part of TIPA, and the organization is made up of editors who have an honest reputation in the industry. It’s this member team that helps to choose the best gear through a voting process for the TIPA World Awards. Just like the other awards, camerAmore, too, will be judged by TIPA member publications.
Those interested can submit five images in all three categories. The judges will choose five winners in each category, the best projects, and the overall winner of the award. The three category winners and overall title winners will each receive a cash prize worth 3,000 euros ($3156). The overall winner will receive 1,500 euros, while the three category winners will receive 500 euros each. All winning entries will be published in TIPA member publications, which means across various languages and regions around the world, as well as the TIPA website.
This is a great opportunity for product photographers to showcase their talents, as well as those who want to dabble in a new genre. This platform will certainly take you places.
Those interested in participating can apply from December 4 until February 16. The winners will be announced in March. For more, visit TIPA’s website. Entries are free to submit.
