With Christmas parties just around the corner, we thought of sharing today’s photography cheat sheet so you can prepare early for the photography side of things!
Whether it’s for the office, in your home, or with your friends, Christmas parties make fun photo opportunities. They’re perfect for getting extra creative with props, backdrops, lights, and gizmos to get some unique Christmas photos. With today’s photography cheat sheet, we think everyone will surely have a merry good time taking pictures during Christmas parties!
The Christmas party photography ideas below were originally put together by UK-based event photography company Ignite Images to get the word out on what they can offer to corporate clients. But, we think you’ll be able to get some ideas here for your own holiday gatherings, big or small, office or otherwise.
Some of these suggestions, like green screen photography, photo booths, and a pop-up photo studio, are most likely already offered by event photographers in your area. On-site printing is also often part of photo booth services for events, some even offering it through hashtag printing from Instagram. So, do ask for it if that’s something you want to include as keepsakes for your guests.
You can also complement these setups with roaming photographers who will go around and take pictures during the party. This way you’ll have photos of what’s happening throughout the event as well as some fun candid snaps of the guests.
Also, don’t forget to include props and simple costumes to make the photos extra fun! They never go missing in photo booths, so make sure your event photographers bring a bunch of cool and funny ones if you do decide to have your own photo booth corner in the event.
Don’t have a big budget for professional services? You can still go the DIY route! The great thing about planning and doing these yourself with family, friends, and colleagues is you have free creative rein over stuff like backdrops, gear, and props, no matter how big or small the event. For example, you can use instant cameras like Polaroid and Instax for the photo booth, or you can pass around some disposable cameras during the party for guests to use. You can also build and design your own photo booth space with a theme and matching props to make your Christmas party photos unique.
