Magnum Photos has been at the forefront of driving photography as art. The company has members who are considered veterans in the field, and the work they have produced has had a significant impact on the world as a whole since 1947. To celebrate this journey further, Magnum has announced another edition of the Square Print Sale, offering a chance to acquire works by esteemed photographers for themselves.

For this edition, Magnum Photos has partnered with The Photographers’ Gallery. The sale is titled Odyssesy, and the company explains the theme as a “meaning, a crossing of thresholds, a story of growth and resilience.” This year, they bring together more than 100 photographers, many from different countries, with unique memories and a sense of “into the unknown.” This year’s edition offers works from Martin Parr, Daidō Moriyama, Eve Arnold, Nadav Kander, Steve McCurry, Juno Calypso, Karen Knorr, and more.

“Odyssey considers photography as a sustained act of looking,” says Michael
Sargeant, Global Digital Director for Magnum Photos. “It speaks to journeys
undertaken, sometimes perilously, as in Homer’s epic poem, sometimes
unfolding through long-term engagement with people, places, and ideas.
The theme and selection reflect Magnum’s diversity of practice and its near
80-year commitment to independent photographic work. The Square Print Sale
remains a vital mechanism in sustaining this work.”
The Square Print Sale will allow one to own these photographers’ works on 6×6-inch archival paper. The images will be 5.5 inches (14 cm) on the longest side, along with a white border. This year, the photographs include images of migration to personal moments of reckoning. The photographs also span decades, coming from diverse contexts and recalling how stories are portrayed across cultures, societies, and politics. The photographs, on he whole, lead one to question the narrative of discovery and change. The prints will also be available for $110, and the proceeds will support The Photographers’ Gallery and its initiatives.
If you are someone who wants to get your hands on a Parr or an Arnold print, this is just the opportunity for you. After all, you;ll be holding a valubeable document of history and story in your palms.
