RNI, known for their excellent film processing presets and apps, have officially announced their third mobile app. RNI Colibri, as it is called, focuses on processing images to have that classic slide film look and joins the other two RNI mobile processing apps aimed at filmic processing. This app follows RNI Films and RNI Flashback; and considering their ratings, we’re sure lots of people will be interested in this.
RNI Colibri is not meant to be an all-in-one editor like many apps out there these days. Instead, they decided to focus it on one specific function, to accurately color and tone your images in that slide film aesthetic in the shortest process possible.
The key behind this new app is the same rendering engine used in RNI’s Flashback app, but rather than focusing on an old-timey vintage look, the app has been trained on some of the ‘finest’ slide films. The result is an app that takes the usually bland colors of a smartphone’s digital images, and infuses a unique recipe of colors to take the image to another level.
The results of the app, as shown in some of the examples below, are quite something.
The new app is available for both iPhone and iPad and can be downloaded over on the RNI website here. There is currently no word on if or when an Android version will be coming or available.
