Bargain Bird Photography. Tamron 70-300mm F4.5-6.3 Di III RXD Review

The Tamron 70-300mm f4.5-6.3 Di III RXD will help keep you sane if you photograph birds.

Tamron’s lenses are usually some of my favorites. Admittedly though, I lean a lot more towards their primes and their constant aperture zooms. But the Tamron 70-300mm f4.5-6.3 Di III RXD is a little bit of this and a little bit of that. The image quality could be better. But the reliability is fantastic. You’ll essentially be relying a lot on Sony’s fantastic image sensors to create stellar images. But no matter what, know that you can do them in pretty much any condition you throw at this lens.

5 Tasty Pancake Lenses That Will Make Your Mouth Water

We’re streaming daily on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Stitcher, Pocket Casts, and Spotify!

Pancake lenses have a special place in the hearts of many street photographers and documentarians. They get their name from their small, thin form factor and their weight (or lack of it). With a pancake lens attached, photographers can pick up a camera and walk around with them almost like they’re a point and shoot. After the break, we’ll share five pancake lenses that are fun to use. They’ll also impress with their image quality and overall performance.

Sharp. Beautiful. Sigma 105mm F2.8 DG DN Macro Art Review

The Sigma 105mm f2.8 DG DN Macro Art is super sharp, but you need to understand its flaws.

When I showed images from this lens to our Pro Camera Reviews audience, they were stunned. Rightfully so! The Sigma 105mm f2.8 DG DN Macro Art is highly capable of being super sharp. Of course, the best and sharpest results come with an off-camera flash. And if you’re social distancing or staying inside, this lens can be incredibly fun to use! Better yet, it also makes for a great portrait lens. Best of all, it’s incredibly well built! And despite all this, it has a very affordable price. Part of me wishes that Sigma charged more and added image stabilization, for as steady as I am, it can still be a tad difficult to work with.

Photographer Rick Corbishley Confesses His Love for the Fujifilm X100V

All images and words by Rick Corbishley for the My Favorite Camera series. Used with permission. His favorite camera is the Fujifilm X100v.

My favourite camera is the Fujifilm X100V. I bought it in February 2020 and have only used it twice, mainly because of the lockdown. Out of the 22 cameras in my possession, 14 of which are vintage, this is the one I would keep if I could only have one. I’ve had a few favourites over the years. My first was an Agfa ISO-Rapid 1 my brother bought me when he visited West Germany in 1968. That changed to a Rollei SL35M when my interest in photography really took hold; I had started work and had cash to spend. I loved that camera, it was a class act. I used it for several years until it broke and I got rid of it; after all, digital was coming. However, I still have strong feelings for it, and last year I purchased another copy to add to my collection of cameras I’ve owned over the years.

For the World Traveler: Gura Gear Chobe 2.0 Review

You can follow along with this blog post by clicking the Listen to the Article button. Give it a try!

From designs that range from hiking to street photography, camera bags are becoming less one-size-fits-all and more specialized. The Gura Gear Chobe 2.0 is designed with the opposite idea in mind. Dubbed as an everyday bag, the Chobe 2.0 easily converts from a laptop bag to a camera bag to a carry-on bag. Even the design crosses genre boundaries. It has the shape and organization of a briefcase, yet the rugged sailcloth material feels like an upscale duffel bag. The bag comes in a 13-inch and 16-inch version, with narrow and wide camera cube options (only the wide cube will fit a mounted lens).
