Simplr has recently launched the F1 Sling-Style Camera Strap, which works great as a neck strap but best performs as a sling-style cross-body strap.
If you liked the M1-Series Quick-Release Camera Straps, Simplr has just made them even more streamlined in their latest offering. The F1 Sling-Style Camera Strap was in fact inspired by this earlier model, just without the quick release connection. If you think you won’t have much use for the M1a’s quick release feature but would like to have its fuss-free form and function, Simplr recommends opting for the new F1 instead.
According to Simplr, they got the idea to make the F1 after learning that a lot of photographers who got the M1-Series straps didn’t really need the quick-release after all. This new offering, therefore, is meant to be an option for them, or for those who would like to have a non-quick-release alternative to their current M1a strap.
Apart from the sleeker form minus the quick release, the new Simplr F1 Sling-Style Camera Strap also features an integral adjustment tab that quickly tailors the strap length with the extra plastic or metal parts. This should come in especially handy when used as a cross-body strap. You can sling your camera low for shooting portraits and landscapes with ease, then cinch it up securely or easy mobility with just a pull of the tab.
The F1 Camera Strap is also made using military nylon webbing and combat-proven acetal hardware — similar to the all-weather materials used for state-of-the-art expedition gear. It also comes in two attachments: the traditional flat mount version, and the streamlined lug mount version. The latter uses Simplr’s proprietary split ring made of a steel and magnesium alloy that they say is 25% stronger than stainless steel.
Another plus factor for the F1 is it conveniently transforms into a wrist strap when needed. Simply loop the strap through the D-rings and you have an effective wrist strap. You can also do this to get your strap out of the way or roll it up for storing.
