As promised yesterday on our Facebook and Twitter, here are featured photos from our Flickr group showing off last night’s super moon. At the end of the posting, you’ll see my own photos. Admittedly, I did no justice to the moon and maybe you guys could teach me a thing or two since I’m mostly photographing people. Let us know your secrets in the comments below and feel free to join our group.

Recently, Facebook took a better measure to protect people’s photos by incorporating Lightbox the way that Flickr does. This is a step in the right direction for many photographers, yes? Sure. But try this: click on a photo of some sort and wait for it to come up in Lightbox. Then hit refresh. I’m using Firefox, and it took me back to the old Facebook photo page that allowed me to pull the image from the site if I wanted to.
So photographers: does this mean that you’re just going to work on building your pageviews on Flickr instead?

The Pentax K-5 is a compact and sturdy camera, capable of creating images with excellent detail, color, and contrast. I’ve had a couple weeks with it, including shooting in a wide range of conditions and it’s been a joy to use. The camera’s unique degree of customization and range of novel exposure and JPG processing controls demand a little experimenting, but add flexibility, entertainment, and a few surprises to the process of getting to know this well-regarded little camera. Read on for Day 2 of our in-depth field review of the Pentax K-5

Bokeh is the artistic blur of photography, that dreamy effect. And when done correctly, it can really make images stand out. The Bokeh Masters kit takes this to another level by letting you shape the bokeh into uncanny shapes using Lo-Fi optics. This makes for a very remarkable and creative addition to any photography kit. Wireless remote triggers are something that can be a major convenience to most photographers. Landscape shooters, wedding photographers in tricky situations, and portrait photographers going for a different angle may all want to make great use of these items. The Pearstone RW-C2 Freewaves are an affordable solution to most other brands and will appeal to all photographers looking for similar units. This review tests the units for Canon.
