Tomorrow night, the staff of The Phoblographer and loads of other people will be getting together to have a meet up. There are loads of networking events out there in the technology industry, but not many for photographers. I’m looking to unite us all once a month, every third Thursday. We’re meeting at Stone Creek (140 East 27th between 3rd and Lexington) from 6pm to 10pm (maybe later). Come have a drink with us. We’ve got the front couch area to ourselves. Here are the details from the event:

I’m starting my own monthly networking get-together looking to gather people across the photo industry: PR reps, photographers, journalists, art buyers, studio techs, etc. It will be every third Thursday of the month. Come join us, grab a drink, some good food, and chat about the industry.
I’m really trying to get people to connect with one another: PR reps with journalists or with photographers, Art Buyers with Photographers, etc. Think social networking without the computer.

Chances are that if you’re reading this posting that you are a photographer and use Facebook. Why not? It’s a great tool to use for your business. However, many photographers and people that know photographers don’t read Facebook’s Terms of Use. The reason for this—too much to read and not enough understanding of what it means. As a former college radio president, I’m used to reading through such terms of content use and even creating them. That said, here’s what Facebook’s Terms of Use mean.

Long time readers of my work will know that I talk often about my mentor. Today, I’m proud to present to you a bio on just that man: John Conrad Williams. As a photographer that has shot for New York Newsday for quite some time now and has been around the world on assignments in addition to covering lots of hard to shoot stories, John is a man of lots of knowledge and is always willing to share it. I got meet up with him recently at my favorite restaurant to talk and catch up.

Throughout all of last week I have discussed The HP Slate, The JooJoo, The Dell Mini 5, Archos 9, and The Apple iPad as to find out which tablet would serve a photographer best. Now all these tablets have a usefulness to them, none of them is without any worth, however from a photographer’s point of view some of them do not stand up to what we need from a Tablet PC.
