Ibarionex Perello Phoblographer Kata

Multimedia has changed how I shoot. It’s also changed how I market and promote my work and myself. It’s resulted in changes to my workflow including the downloading, cataloging and editing of gigabytes and terabytes of digital still and movie files.

However, one of the most practical changes has been how to carry the additional equipment I need to produce multimedia. Along with the cameras and lenses, I now have to include space for a laptop, microphones, audio recorders, XLR cables, focusing rigs, LCD monitors, AC adapters, extra batteries and more. Suddenly that spacious photo backpack that was adequate for my still work was no longer viable.

Chris Gampat The Phoblographer LowePro bag (1 of 1)ISO 1001-200 sec at f - 18

LowePro’s AW camera bags have been evolving extremely fast. Today, they’re introducing three brand new additions that they’re billing as being designed for all weather. The three bags are the LowePro Sport Sling 100 AW, Sport 200 AW, and the Sport Pro 30L AW. The bags have dual-compartment construction to separate camera and personal gear. The smaller models include an Ultra-Cinch Camera Chamber that the company is saying will protect a DSLR when you’re moving around. The largest model fits a pro-sized kit and features a removable Ultra-Cinch Camera chamber for the ultimate flexibility.

And prices? The Photo Sport Sling 100 AW will be $99.99, Photo Sport 200 AW will be $159.99 and the Photo Sport Pro 30L AW will come in at $199.99.

Editor’s Correction: Only the 30L is a new bag. We apologize for the error.

- Tripod or monopod

Missing here: Panasonc G1 + Lumix 20/1.7 + Rokinon flash (as I used these to take the picture)

I’ve had my fair share of cameras, both digital and analog, in recent years. Which is both good and bad. Good, because I learned a lot about photography — both from the technical as well as the artistical standpoint –, and bad, because at times I found myself in a constant loop of buying and selling. I spent a lot of money on different pieces of equipment, just to sell it with loss afterwards. And while searching for that one, perfect, ultimate camera kit, I figured something out. It’s not the gear that makes you happy. It’s the pictures you take. So I made a rather bold decision, namely to sell my beloved Leica M8. Not because it didn’t take good pictures, or because I didn’t enjoy using, but because I figured that I didn’t need such an expensive piece of technology to take great pictures. Quite on the contrary, in fact. What, then, is in my bag now? Read on to find out!
