OK GO Films Video with Samsung NX100 (And we’ve got still samples)

with 3 comments

We recently did a hands-on with the Samsung NX100 and we just got news that OK GO has filmed a viral music video with the camera. Samsung is releasing a teaser trailer today. According to the press release, “A series of behind-the-scenes episodes has also been produced using the Samsung NX100, following OK Go as they embark on this creative project. The clips show the creative brilliance of OK Go meeting the technical ingenuity of the i-Function Lens, as they create a piece of video art that will be viewed, downloaded, sent on and talked about across the world. In addition, the episodes provide a fun way to learn about how the NX100 itself works. The series also challenges viewers to explore their own creativity.”

Beyond the videos though, we got to put an SD card in a pre-production NX100 the other night to take some stills. Check them out after the jump. Admittedly, we found the metering to be a bit off but otherwise thought this to be a very stellar piece of gear. You can currently pre-order the camera at B&H in Black or Brown.

Nerd Blerp Interview: Mike Fontaine And Dave Woodruff from Nerd Blerp on Vimeo.

Recently, my buddies over at NerdBlerp.com invited me over to come to their Podcast. Being the camera geek that I am, I volunteered to use it to test the video abilities of the T2i and the 7D. So how do they fare? Check out the video above and keep reading for some more insights.

What A Canon 5D Mk II Can Do With a 50mm F1.8

without comments

Canon 5D Mk II firmware 2.0.3 was well received and I previously demoed what it was capable of. For users that say that the 50mm F1.8 II is a terrible lens, consider it for video in the video I shot for 2D-x.com. This was shot at ISO 6400 with the lens at F2.

Soon to come, the 7D and T2i used on the set of a podcast.

I Miss My Cinematography Days

without comments

Bromance- A Mockumentary from Chris Gampat on Vimeo.

If you’ve followed my work for a long time, then you probably know that I’ve forever been both a video and photo guy and depending on what the industry demands out of me, I lean more towards one or the other. That being said, I really miss the days where I used to crank out great video. Granted, those were my college days and I’ve graduated almost a year ago so things are much more serious now. And now that I’ve got the Canon 5D Mk II and temporarily have the Nikon D3s and D300s in my hands, I’m going to try to work on putting together some more videos if possible.

Just sayin’ :)
