The title of this piece may perhaps be a bit overexaggerated, but Fujifilm has just announced that their Limited Edition of the Fuji X100 in black is shipping worldwide to customers now. You can order it from B&H Photo if you’d like. But the main story behind this announcement is the microsite: which is filled with some gorgeous Fuji X100 pornography images.
Only 10,000 will be made.

As many of you know, we’re fans of film here at The Phoblographer. Pretty much every staff member shoots with film at one time or another and we have a real feeling that all of photography’s faces and mediums should be experienced in order for someone to find themselves and their identity. Personally, I’m smitten with my Polaroid Land Camera 210. But it’s limited in that I have pretty much no manual control over the shutter or aperture. In practice, that meant that I was shooting photos with some weird looks to them.
And then I decided to start using a flash. I’m smacking myself for not doing this earlier; as it’s so easy to use and will immediately improve the quality of your images by tenfold.
Editor’s Note: Thank you so much to my very good buddy Gabe Biderman for the Instant Film.

I’ve been told by friends and colleagues that street photography came as a breath of fresh air into an otherwise mundane world of shooting landscapes and studio portraits, while many others, myself included, found it to be inherently uncomfortable in just about every way possible. Finding the beauty in the commonplace, and capturing it without disrupting your environment isn’t something that comes easily to all, but it seems we can all agree that there is a certain type of candid allure on the streets that simply can’t go undocumented.
Also be sure to check out our Editor in Chief’s post on how the camera retaught him street photography.

Years and years of innovation, tweaking and image quality battling have come down to this single conflict of epic proportions! There have been lots of Leica X1 vs Fuji X100 comparisons, but we’re going to see if you can tell the difference in the images yourselves.
Be sure to check out the Complete Fujifilm X100 review and the Leica X1 review so far.

Part of my methods of testing cameras here at The Phoblographer is by using them for street photography. While I agree with Eric Kim that it’s the photographer that creates the images, I believe that the camera is the tool that we use to do it. With that said, you wouldn’t use a wrench when you need a screwdriver. Upon using the Fuji X100, I believe that the camera retaught me how to do street photography.

At long last, we’re done (sort of)! While this is the end of the Fuji X100 review, we’re going to be testing it against the Leica X1 very soon. But in the meantime, here are our findings on this amazing camera.
