Canon Announces T3 and T3i: Do You Know Which One You Want?

Just when we thought we made it easier for you, Canon went and announced the Canon T3i and T3 DSLRs, effectively replacing the Canon T2i in almost every way: or did they? Look a little bit closer at these two new cameras and you’ll see that there is a clear difference of who they are targeting. Additionally, it makes the choices between the two Rebels and 60D much easier.

Field Review: Cotton Carry-Lite (Day 1)

The camera strap has been with us a long, long time, but carrying heavy cameras on it is a relatively new phenomenon. Back in the day heavy cameras were invariably used on tripods, and only lightweight cameras used hand-held. These days we seem to carry a ton of gear: Cotton Carrier is building camera carrying systems to take away that strain, and also provide better security for your gear against inadvertent drops and slips.

Could the New Panasonic Cameras Be Like the L1 or LC1?

The digital camera world is abuzz about the new Micro Four Thirds camera by Panasonic with a zoom lens attached. Further, 43rumors’ sources are saying that it will have a rangefinder style viewfinder. Now, does all this sound a bit familiar to you at all? Remember the Panasonic L1 and LC1?

USAToday: 2.7 million Digital SLRs…will be sold this year

USAToday has a nice article on how the DSLR industry is really booming right now. Because of the growth in DSLR sales and DSLR videography due to dropping prices of entry level models, getting better video than a camcorder is possible for normal folk. The article also says though that items are essential to be coupled with the DSLRs when shooting video. That’s where we’ve got you covered in our list. This is why I love my 5D Mk II so much.

Entry Level DSLRs are Better Than We Think

Most readers of this site use Entry Level DSLRs of some sort. Semi-pro and professional photographers like me don’t always tend to give those types of cameras the full credit they deserve. After seeing things like a Sony A350 survive time in a freezer and Fred Miranda’s Rebel XT survive a fall out of an airplane it can be said that quite a bit can actually be done with these cameras and that they probably can last much longer than we think.
