The camera in the teaser campaign picture that I said looked very familiar to the original prototype I photographed is apparently all official and such according to Gizmodo. The camera is aimed more at beginners and enthusiasts as this can be told by the price point of $599.99 with the M. ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 14-42mm f3.5/5.6 Zoom Lens. The camera, in terms of specs, sounds almost identical to the EP-2.

Long Exposure Photography is a popular technique used to capture light by slowing down the shutter. The formula is simple: slow down the shutter speed and for best results close the aperture (F stop.) This is best done with use of a tripod. What you get as a result is sometimes some very interesting effects such as the picture above. It’s best done with a DSLR or camera with advanced shooting settings like aperture and manual.

Yesterday for CES 2010, Olympus announced an update to their point and shoot camera line. Amongst the updates, they now use SD cards vs the old XD cards that many photographers and users quite disliked. The cameras, due to be released in March, are aimed towards the entry-level crowd, enthusiasts, etc. This means that the Micro Four Thirds and Four Thirds crowds will have to wait just a little longer. Today, Panasonic announced their new cameras aimed towards techies, enthusiasts and beginners. Those of you who read this blog and consider yourselves mid-level to entry-level users may want to take a look at these. Outstanding features include a touchscreen on one, better/improved battery life, sleek profiles and other features that will appeal to this segment of the market. Fact: most people don’t read their manuals when they buy a new camera. Further, if they do, they have no idea what most of it means to them. If you’re one of those people, or know them, then this is the blog post for you. As a photography instructor, I’ve seen lots of people take photos then look at their images and wonder why they’re not getting the results that they want.
