Field Review: Leica X1 (Day 1)

When it comes to cameras, digital or film, there are a few brands that are more than just a name; they are more of a religion amongst their followers. For many, Leica is one of those brands. Their customers will drop more money on a small kit than many people will spend on their car, which is astounding to me – someone who doesn’t own anything with that revered red dot. So what does a complete Leica virgin think of one of their newer offerings, the Leica X1? Let’s find out.

Sigma's 85mm F/1.4 Lens Gets $899 Street Price

Sigma has announced pricing and availability for its 85mm F/1.4 EX DG HSM lens. The bright portrait lens will be available with a suggested retail price of $1,400 and an approximate street price of $899. On an APS-C camera, the lens has the equivalent focal length of 127.5mm, making its F/1.4 aperture quite an impressive feat. For APS-C cameras, the lens comes with a hood extension to reduce outside light.

Pentax K-5 Looking Like Quite The Spartan

Photo Rumors via Lenstip got their hands on images of and the specs on the rumored Pentax K-5 specs. So how is it? Well, this camera seems like one of Pentax’s most aggressive pushes yet and will be targeted directly towards the D300s and 7D. The most prominent specs are after the jump.
