If there was one thing that you could say was true of the photography industry today, it would be that there are more options now in terms of quality, low budget lighting and accessories than most people know what to do with. Adorama is bringing another batch of products to the market with their newly announced ORLIT lighting products.
Among these new products from Adorama are the ORLIT RT 610 TTL Monolight, RT 600C, and RT 611C/N. The RT 610 TTL Monolight is another relatively cheap TTL monolight (bowens mount) with a built in battery a’la Profoto B1/B2. It comes in around $599, which makes it fairly affordable compared to other similar products, many of which are around or above that $1000 price point.
The RT 600C is a TTL speedlight for the Canon system, and it comes in at the $169 price point making it a fairly affordable third-party option. As well, the RT 611C and RT 611N are 2.4Ghz transceivers that are compatible with the RT 610 TTL Monolight. The units are currently available for preorder over on Adorama and will also be on display at WPPI in Las Vegas in just over a week.
These battery powered monolights are the hot product in the lighting world right now, after the great success of Profoto’s B1/B2 series, and a few other more affordable options from companies like Interfit and Flashpoint. It will be interesting to see how these ORLIT lights fit into the market in terms of performance.
If they’re anything like the Xplor series, then you’re going to really like them.
